Summer Storm Intensive
DAMP-HEAT 湿热
Quick to heat up, quick to break.
An eight-day decoction course for a Summer Storm season — when heat and heaviness arrive together and everything feels more intense than it needs to. Built on San Ren Tang, the “Three-Seed Decoction” — the classical formula that does both jobs at once: clear the heat, drain the damp.
Raw herbs, barks, roots, and berries in daily bundles, steeped at home over eight days. Storms that keep re-forming may call for up to three courses.
Inside the formula — 11 herbs
Sovereigns — the three seeds
- Xing ren (apricot kernel) — opens the upper body’s fluid pathways
- Bai dou kou (cardamom) — transforms dampness and promotes a clear head
- Yi yi ren (coix) — drains excess dampness while gently supporting digestion
Ministers
- Hou po (magnolia bark) — moves qi through the digestion and eases damp fullness
- Ban xia (pinellia) — dries dampness and settles the digestion
- Huang qin (scutellaria) — a stronger heat-clearing herb, in a measured dose to cool without overcooling
Assistants
- Tong cao (rice paper pith) — a light herb traditionally used to guide dampness out through urination
- Dan zhu ye (bamboo leaf) — clears heat gently; traditionally used for a restless, irritable quality
- Jin yin hua (honeysuckle) — clears heat; traditionally used for an irritable, inflamed quality
- Che qian zi (plantain seed) — drains damp-heat through the urinary system
Envoy
- Gan cao (licorice) — harmonizes the blend and rounds out its flavor

Take the Intake — nine short sections, about five minutes, free.
Your reading names your climate (your body’s lasting tendency) and, if one is passing through, your season (the pattern active right now). It recommends a daily Regimen to keep your climate steady and, when a season is present, an eight-day Intensive course to bring you back to balance.
