    Still Pond Intensive

    Price: $125.00

    QI STAGNATION 气滞

Calm on the surface, holding everything underneath.

An eight-day decoction course for a Still Pond season — the stretch where you run steady but carry tension readily, and stress shows up as a held-in feeling rather than an outward one. Built on Xiao Yao San, the “Free & Easy Wanderer” — the classical formula for constrained qi — extended with its traditional additions for the heat that builds where things stay stuck.

Raw herbs, barks, roots, and berries in daily bundles, steeped at home — one decoction a day for eight days. A long-held season may call for up to three courses.

Inside the formula — 12 herbs

    Sovereign

    • Chai hu (bupleurum) — the classical lead for releasing constrained qi; the herb the formula is built around

    Ministers

    • Dang gui (dong quai) — nourishes and moves blood at once, promoting circulation without depletion
    • Bai shao (white peony) — softens and preserves the body’s reserves while the moving herbs work

    Assistants

    • Bai zhu (atractylodes) — strengthens digestion so the formula’s movement has solid support underneath it
    • Fu ling (poria) — gently calming; steadies rest unsettled by stirred-up qi
    • Bo he (mint) — a light aromatic lift that promotes release at the surface layer of constraint
    • Mu dan pi (moutan) — clears the heat that builds where qi has been stuck, and gently moves blood
    • Zhi zi (gardenia) — traditionally used to drain the irritable, restless edge of constrained qi
    • Yu jin (curcuma) — moves qi and blood together, deepening the formula’s reach
    • Chuan xiong (ligusticum) — the classic blood-mover; invigorates circulation where things sit fixed

    Envoys

    • Zhi gan cao (honey-fried licorice) — harmonizes all twelve herbs and protects the digestion
    • Sheng jiang (fresh ginger) — warms the digestion and helps carry the formula through the system

Not sure which formula is for you?

Your reading names your climate (your body’s lasting tendency) and, if one is passing through, your season (the pattern active right now). It recommends a daily Regimen to keep your climate steady and, when a season is present, an eight-day Intensive course to bring you back to balance.
